Photo Gallery of Mission Trip to Hooper Bay, Alaska Hooper Bay is a very remote village of about 1,000 people. It lies 550 miles West of Anchorage on the Bering Sea. It is only accessible by plane or barge. The villagers are Yupik Eskimos with an average age of 18 years old. There is no industry and few jobs for anyone. The villagers hunt, fish and gather what Nature provides. The area is a wetlands for hundreds of miles with very few moose, bear, or other four legged animals.
